Finishing Settings

So, we still need to look more at neighborhoods and family settings.

Amy noted that thorough work has been done on family so Cynthia is thinking we should just take already used measures of family in our models. This way we can put this measure together quickly and use it to compare the influence of family with that of school, neighborhood, and peers. I think that Bui did a great analysis of the influence of multiple contexts on generational changes in delinquency; she also found possible mediation with her family contexts variables. Shall we use these?

How do we want to move forward with neighborhoods?

Possible Papers

Amy, Cynthia and I had a good brainstorming session yesterday and there are five papers that we will all focus on over the next couple of months.
  • Sexual Risk across generations (Tristan--almost completed)
  • Sex outcomes across generations (pregnancy/stds--Tristan)
  • Delinquency and Substance abuse across generations with peer setting
  • Academic Expectations, Aspirations and Engagement with School (and peer settings?)
  • Peer composition and characteristics across generations (Amy)
